An Open Letter to Sound Control
Updated: Jan 13, 2020

Dearest Sound Control,
We know it’s not your fault, we aren’t mad
We’re simply a little sad…
We can’t blame people for wanting to live in a city of culture.
But how do we let that culture grow,
If the levels of independent venues is forever low.
First Sankeys for flats,
Then a load of chat.
Maybe Star and Garter,
But you were instead the martyr.
Those memories stay,
Of where the bands were to play
Distant memories is what you’ll soon be,
Though you were much more to me.
A home away from home
And for a replacement I will roam.
Thank you Sound Control,
You really had a role
In our live music community,
Creating a sense of unity.
