Updated: Feb 6, 2020
Looking for something to blow the cobwebs from your balmy summer afternoon? Well hardcore punk quartet Torchbearer have just the thing- their newly released single 'Paralysed', which was unleashed in tandem with the announcement of their new upcoming EP, set for release next month. The track is big and ballsy, blending crackling metal core vocals with scything guitars and a riotously lively melody pumped with infectious energy. Serving as a preview of what to expect from their upcoming EP, 'Against the Tide', the track undoubtedly contains flecks of influence from their time on the road, touring with everyone from the likes of The Amsterdam Red Light District and High Hopes, to Yards and From Eden To Exile. As well as their struggles as a small touring band, the EP encompasses more sombre themes, including the effects of the terror attacks on Borough Markets which occurred last year. One thing is for sure, with their conflagration of genres, married with their multi-faceted sphere of influences, Torchbearer are one upcoming band you should most definitely keep your eye on...
