LOUDER NEWS: Millie Manders and the Shutup unveil new video for 'Broken Record'
Punk rockers with a conscience, Millie Manders and the Shutup, have unveiled the accompanying video for their new single 'Broken Record'.
The track hurtles through the verses at breakneck speed, before the uplifting brightness of the brass section come bounding in at the chorus, bringing with them all the cathartic energy of the ska punk greats. Though the song's lyrics discuss experiences that are profoundly painful to experience, musically it couldn't be much more rousingly joyful if it tried - there is no doubt that this is one song that will have you skanking in your seat!
Speaking about the track, vocalist Millie said: “So, you’ve been unceremoniously dumped. You’re no longer part of their story but you can’t stop thinking about them, dreaming about them, playing out every last moment in your head. It’s like a broken record…”
The single is the sixth to be released from the band's debut record, 'Telling Truths, Breaking Ties', which dropped last summer to great acclaim from the media - us included! The record is a riotous condemnation of society's many ills, including climate change, sexual harassment, and toxic relationships - all highlighted in Millie's stunning vocals, which are set against a ska-influenced backdrop that will make Millie Manders and the Shutup a raucous festival favourite this summer.
