LOUDER NEWS: Press To Meco release punchy, fun new single, ‘Smouldering Sticks’

More teasing came from Crawley/Croydon trio Press to MECO last week, as their new single hints at what we can expect from their upcoming third album, 'Transmute'.

With less than three months to go until the release of the album, Press To MECO have dropped another single, ‘Smouldering Sticks’, with a strong, fuzzy bassline, and their iconic harmonies in the vocals. Adding onto what previous single ‘Another Day’ established, 'Smouldering Sticks’ is another banger that pushes the boundaries on what alt rock can sound like, combining their early math-rock influences with their current alt rock sound to make it feel more anthemic and mature.

When discussing the track, drummer Lewis Williams said: “'Smouldering Sticks' is about the inability to stay away from things we know are bad for us. Whether it’s drugs, relationships or thought patterns, sometimes we’re our own worst enemy in repeating the same mistakes over and over again”.

'Transmute' will be released on June the 11th. Preorders are available now, with an exclusive coloured vinyl available to preorder at Banquet Records:
