LOUDER NEWS: Sea Girls release new single 'Hometown'
Exciting indie rock group Sea Girls have released their brand new single 'Hometown' from their upcoming album 'Homesick', which is out on the 14th of January 2022.
The release comes fresh off the heels of their manic sold-out UK headline tour, and is accompanied by a special mini-documentary Homesick At Night For Brixton, showcasing their ‘packed to the rafters’ show at the Academy.
Frontman Henry Camamile said: “‘Hometown’ is one of the most important songs I've written. It defines my philosophy.
“While writing songs for the new album, I had this intense love for life. 'Hometown' is about people I knew growing up that aren't around anymore. I'm saying ‘I see you’ - it’s a nod to them. I'm grateful for life and I am not going to jeopardise it in any way.”
'Homesick' is set to be a deeply personal record, one in which Henry returns to his childhood home in Lincolnshire during the beginning of the pandemic and begins to reflect on and address events of the past. In true Sea Girls style, Henry does so with his astute storytelling and candid lyrics, leaving nothing to the imagination.
Delving into some of his darkest moments, the uplifting album comes with a sense of relief, and a gratefulness for survival. Lyrically raw and packed to the brim with hooks, the band step into new realms with an added sense of maturity and a bigger, even more ambitious-sounding record.
