Louder News: Simple Creatures release video for ‘Special’ - Announce new EP “Everything Opposite”

It was only around half a year ago that supergroup Simple Creatures burst onto the scene with their debut single “Drug” - a curious yet catchy concoction of synths, bass and of course, vocals from two of the most iconic voices in pop punk: Mark Hoppus (Blink-182) and Alex Gaskarth (All Time Low) - and in that short space of time since “Drug” managed to Na Na Na its way into our hearts, they’ve completed a UK tour, played sets at some iconic festivals and of course released their debut EP “Strange Love”.

All of those achievements must have you thinking, what could possibly be next for this iconic duo? Surely it’s something as large scale and as high budget as it comes for these two legends?

But what actually came next was in fact a music video that is, (excuse the pun) everything opposite of that - although that doesn’t make it (excuse the other pun) any less special.

The new video for single “Special” is pulled straight from the wild mind of Alex Gaskarth - I’m talking written, directed and produced - and is made up of none other than sock puppets. Filmed simply on a smartphone, it sees the rock stars reimagined as their sock-based counterparts - it’s weird and wonderful in all the best ways, and you can check it out right here:

And from the video’s accompanying announcement - the band’s second EP, titled “Everything Opposite” and due for release 13th of September - it is made pretty clear that, with their addictive trash pop sound, Simple Creatures (both in human and sock puppet form) have cemented themselves firmly in the scene, and they aren’t slowing down any time soon.
