Louder News: Thousand Thoughts return with new single ‘Saviour’ and music video
Following the release of their self-titled debut EP in March and explosive rise as a new band, London’s Thousand Thoughts have just given us a new single and music video, ‘Saviour’.
A captivating chorus breaks up equally impressive verses, all centred around what lead singer Ethan Smith refers to as the world’s ‘extreme dismissal for empathy’. The track’s focus is bringing people together to listen to each other. This is captured, also, in the music video, which sees a group of people sit down and listen to somebody encouraging a peaceful change in the world, then pairing up to ask each other the repeated and catchy question ‘Will you be my saviour?’.
Fans of the EP may be able to notice a reference to one of the tracks here. Smith claims there is an ‘Easter egg’ in this new single linking to EP track ‘This One’s For You’, from which ‘Saviour’ follows on. However, it is a freestanding song which in itself emanates passion and calls for a reaction from a generation torn by a lack of community.
This comes just ahead of an October/November UK tour where the four-piece will support their label-mates, Inklings, on these dates:
Garage Attic, Glasgow – 27th October
Head Of Steam, Newcastle – 28th October
Star & Garter, Manchester – 29th October
Asylum 2, Birmingham – 30th October
Thousand Island, London – 3rd November
