Louder News: Vukovi announce new album 'Fall Better', and release new single 'All That Candy'

In a world that at times seems impenetrably dull and bleak, Vukovi's irresistibly effervescent personalities and penchant for searingly bright colour palettes makes them an irresistible guiding light to follow for many a self-proclaimed weirdo. Their self-titled 2017 debut was jam-packed with popping colour and fist-pumping choruses, married with deeply cathartic lyrics that brought the darkest elements of the human experience into the strobing light- an unapologetically unique mantra which has persisted into their follow-up, 'Fall Better'.

Capturing this dichotomy perfectly is Vukovi's recently released single, 'All That Candy', which joins the previously released 'C.L.A.U.D.I.A' and 'Behave', and brings with it an accompanying video, which is a UV-paint filled, strobe lit delight! However, the inspiration behind this track comes from somewhere diametrically opposed to Vukovi's bubbly melodies- the consuming darkness that comes from vocalist Janine Shilton's struggle with Thought Action Fusion, a form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) that can lead those who have it to believe that their actions are guided by an external presence.

“When writing ‘All That Candy’ I was going through a really angry stage towards my OCD,” explains Janine. “Angry because I physically wanted to hurt this thing which I couldn’t, so talking back and standing up for myself seemed the next best thing." A deeply rooted personal strength that has endeared Vukovi to the hearts of outcasts the country over, fighting back against those feelings that threaten to drag you down was the driving force behind 'Fall Better' - a process that was undeniably difficult, but ultimately opening a pathway towards healing, both for the band themselves, and those who will soon have this record in their possession: "This album is our therapy and we hope it’s going to help a lot of people as well.”
