LOUDER NEWS: Wolf Alice shortlisted for 2021 Hyundai Mercury Prize

Wolf Alice’s number one album 'Blue Weekend' has been shortlisted as one of the 12 Albums of the Year for the 2021 Hyundai Mercury Prize. They have now been shortlisted for the prize for each of their three albums, winning with their previous record 'Visions of a Life'.

To coincide with the news, Wolf Alice have announced their new single 'How Can I Make It Ok?', alongside a video directed by Jordan Hemingway. Speaking about the track, guitarist and vocalist Ellie Rowsell said: “I really like this one. It’s a real mixture of happy and sad and fun, a bit more groovy.

“It’s the oldest one. I remember writing it on tour in Spain. I was really into backing vocals and harmonies, and I wanted a song where I could indulge myself in singing.”

Rowsell’s personal storytelling is at the core of 'Blue Weekend', an album that sees Wolf Alice embrace a newfound boldness and vulnerability in equal measure.

The band headlined the opening day of Latitude Festival, their first major headline slot and another milestone for the band in 2021. They will then tour the UK and Ireland in January 2022.
