LOUDER REVIEWS: 'Confused' - Jack and Sally
East London pop rock trio Jack and Sally's new single 'Confused' is an example of where pop-punk is going. With influences such as Green Day coming through in Ben Felix' solid vocals , 'Confused' is one to add to your playlist to alleviate you from the monotony that some pop punk/rock fans have been feeling for the past few years. Still in the early stages of their musical journey, Jack and Sally have shown exactly what they're bringing to the table, and created a track that's going to be a hit, especially when performed live!
Compared to the bands more melancholic, slow-tempo singles, 'Confused' has a poppier sound, making it the perfect track to jam out to, despite the darker lyrics. The stand out moment of the single is Joshua Jacob's mid-track guitar solo, which adds energy between the final bridge and chorus. A sense of balance is created perfectly, with the more sombre vocals that match the heartfelt lyrics, with the thrashing drums, by Pravir Ramasundaram, which manage to represent the turmoil of a break up. The band has created an extremely catchy break-up track, with some banging opportunities for some air guitar. So honestly, what else could you want?
