LOUDER REVIEWS: 'Hostage' - Normandie

Rising Swedish rockers Normandie have just released their killer new single 'Hostage'!

'Hostage' was written whilst experiencing a panic attack and reflects on frontman Philip Strand’s experience of depersonalisation and what it is like to live with anxiety on a day-to-day basis.

The accompanying video has an unmistakeable edge to it, with the distorted transitions and isolated orange features. Strand can be seen at times with a snake around his neck or sat in a circle surrounded by multiple versions of himself.

The lyrics reflect feeling broken and out of control; they’re relatable, and definitely make you feel connected to Normandie on a more human level. 'Hostage' is a cathartic track which brings along with it a mental release - it is Normandie’s way of offering a helping hand. If you weren’t already excited for the new album, you definitely should be now!
