You Me At Six release new video / Louder News

Ahead of the bands headliner performance at Gunnersville and return to Reading and Leeds, emo-veterans You Me At Six have released a new “banger” with a trippy video. What’s It Like infuses the bands pop-rock catalogue with a dubstep beat and a snake-charmer like vibe to create what is a real change from the bands previous album VI. The track is a statement from the band, a sonically bold track that will confuse and delight fans old and new but is sure to go down a treat and be a large live spectacle.

The bands performance at Gunnersville will feature all the singles the band can possibly cram into one set, and it’s very likely this will make an appearance. Check out the video below:

Vocalist Josh Franceschi spoke about the track saying: “‘What’s It Like’ is us flexing our creative muscles. Combining our favourite genres and bringing them together in one track. For me lyrically, it’s looking at our society in parts in 2019. I definitely feel as though we are living in a time where we’ve lost our way a little bit. There are great innovators and pioneers which we can rely on, but there is also a feeling of the blind leading the blind and a lack of humility present. Within the title and the chorus I sort of poke fun at those who are libertines or self serving - ‘what’s it like being perfect all the time?’. Life’s not a competition, but people have a tendency to play it out that way.”

September brings Gunnersville, a celebration of the band nonetheless, 27 huge singles with a massive 15 that have consecutively gone onto the A list at BBC R1, the band truly are a force to be reckoned and the performance they’ll be putting out is guaranteed to be unlike any the band have ever done before. Gunnersville also brings us some of the best in scene with Jimmy Eat World, Deaf Havana, Sundara Karma, The Maine, Milk Teeth and As It Is.
